Purdue Alumni Club Presents Scholarships

The Purdue Alumni Club of Kosciusko County is awarding scholarships to two students from the Purdue Scholars of Kosciusko County Fund.

The fund was established through the Kosciusko County Community Foundation to provide financial assistance to deserving students from Kosciusko County who are beginning their third or fourth year at Purdue University.

The Purdue Club announced Samantha Carney and Teryn Sapper as this year's recipients of the award.

Carney is being awarded a $1,000 scholarship. She will be a junior at Purdue University, West Lafayette, studying chemistry education, and will graduate in May 2012.

Carney is a Nappanee resident, and a 2008 NorthWood High School graduate.

After graduating from Purdue, she hopes to work for Teach for America, and then teach high school chemistry.[[In-content Ad]]Sapper also is being awarded a $1,000 scholarship. She will be a junior at Purdue University, majoring in dietetics, and will graduate in May 2012.

Sapper is a Warsaw resident, and a 2008 Warsaw Community High School graduate.

After graduating from Purdue, she plans to become a clinical dietician with a concentration in oncology and research.
