 The following people were preliminarily charged and booked into the Kosciusko County Jail:
n 10:28 a.m. Wednesday – Richard A. Howard Jr., 34, of 211 N. Columbia St., Apt. F, Warsaw, arrested for failure to appear and failure to return to lawful detention. Bond: $25,000.
n 11:49 a.m. Wednesday – Andrea J. Marchand, 21, of 103 E. County Line Road, Syracuse, arrested for aiding or inducing or causing an offense. Bond: $500.
n 5:48 p.m. Wednesday – John A. Ward, 20, Goshen, arrested for illegal consumption of an alcoholic beverage. Bond: $350.
n 5:52 p.m. Wednesday – Michael G. Johnson, 19, Goshen, arrested for illegal consumption of an alcoholic beverage. Bond: $350.

n 6:48 p.m. Wednesday – CR 1250N, 1,700 feet east of CR 750W, Nappanee. Two-vehicle collision. Drivers: Rachelle L. Meyers, 29, Bremen; Mary Sheets, 75, CR 11, Nappanee. Injuries: Meyers complained of pain in her lower left leg; Sheets complained of leg pain and both were transported to Goshen General Hospital by Wakarusa Ambulance. Damages: $25,000-$50,000. Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department investigated.
n 10 p.m. Wednesday – Main Street, 12 feet west of Harrison Street, Atwood. Vehicle struck building. Driver: Cody Slone, 21, CR 750W, Warsaw. Injuries: Slone suffered injuries to his head and was transported by EMS to an unlisted facility. Damages: $10,000-$25,000. KCSD.

n 4:13 p.m. Wednesday – Frontage Road, 50 feet east of Eastlake Drive, Warsaw. Two-vehicle collision. Drivers: Brittany L. Hastings, 28, EMS C24F Lane, Warsaw; Sasha R. Lynn-Bolen, 20, Ind. 13, North Manchester. Damages: $750-$1,000. Warsaw Police Department investigated.
n 5:28 p.m. Wednesday – Intersection of Lake City Highway and Meijer Drive, Warsaw. Two-vehicle collision. Drivers: Amanda R. Blanchard, 32, Deerfield Path, Warsaw; Harjeet S. Bola, 49, Fort Wayne. Damages: $5,000-$10,000. WPD.

Sheriff Addressed Issues In The Jail Since Taking Office
Once taking office I knew how important it was going to be to have the right leadership in every division of the office, and the jail was certainly no exception. Upon taking office, I appointed Lt. Kevin Gelbaugh as the jail commander and Chad Marsh as the assistant jail commander, and to say I am proud of all their work and accomplishments would be an understatement.
