The following people were preliminarily charged and booked into the Kosciusko County Jail:
n 9:03 p.m. Thursday – Amber Fahl Schopf, 26, of 3185 E. Old Colony Road, Warsaw, arrested for driving while suspended. Bond: $300.
n 7:17 a.m. Friday – Erich Jeffrey Wilhelmi, 28, of 4478 N. Sullivan Road, Leesburg, arrested for leaving the scene of a property damage accident. Bond: $10,000.
n 10:04 a.m. Friday – Shawn Richard Jones, 29, of 9414 E. Crooked Mile, Cromwell, arrested for non-support and failure to appear. Bond: $8,840.
n 5:39 p.m. Friday – Erick Miller, 32, Plymouth, arrested for driving while intoxicated. Bond: $750.
n 8:23 p.m. Friday – Whitney Lee Patterson, 24, of 6157 N. 7th Trail, North Webster, arrested for possession of methamphetamine. KCSD.

n 7:40 p.m. May 19 – Terry Hersler, Northcrest Lane, Claypool, reported a burglary to his residence. Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated.
n 7 p.m. May 20 – John R Hinderliter, Indianapolis, reported the theft of items from a summer residence. KCSD.
n May 22 – Herb Baldwin, Ind. 19S, Etna Green, reported the theft of items from his residence.  KCSD.
n May 23 – A Mediacom employee, Bremen, reported a theft of equipment from a Syracuse location. KCSD.
n 1:45 p.m. May 23 – Carol Vanmeter, West Warren Avenue, Silver Lake, reported the theft of items from her residence. KCSD.
n 5:34 p.m. May 25 – A Burket woman reported being harassed. KCSD.
n May 27 – Mary Phillips, Converse, reported a theft from her yard. KCSD.
n 3:03 p.m. May 27 – Connie S. Dye, Columbia City, reported the theft of items from a summer residence. Loss: $200. KCSD.
n Monday – A Claypool man reported possible child abuse. KCSD.

Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs) are for people over the age of 70.5 years old. Unlike other distributions, which are taxed at ordinary income tax rates, Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs) allow for a tax-free distribution from an IRA, provided that the distribution goes directly to a qualified charity.
