The following people were preliminarily charged and booked into the Kosciusko County Jail:
- 11:35 a.m.  Tuesday – David Castillejo, 30, of 2441 W. CR 250S, Warsaw, arrested for probation violation, burglary and theft. Bond: $27,000.
- 12 p.m. Tuesday – Margarida Esteves, 42, Holland, Mich., arrested for failure to appear. Bond: $1,500.
- 12:23 p.m. Tuesday – Keith See, 32, Auburn, arrested for probation violation. Bond: $20,000.
- 12:45 p.m. Tuesday – Patrick Sebring, 23, LaPorte, arrested for visiting a common nuisance. Bond: $350.
- 12:54 p.m. Tuesday – Curtis McDonald, 39, South Bend, arrested for visiting a common nuisance.  Bond: $350.
- 1:04 p.m. Tuesday – Joseph Hintz, 53, South Bend, arrested for visiting a common nuisance. Bond: $350.
- 1:11 p.m. Tuesday – Scott Nowicki, 44, South Bend, arrested for visiting a common nuisance. Bond: $350.
- 2:01 p.m. Tuesday – David Billman, 38, of 2604 W. CR 1300S, Silver Lake, arrested for four counts of failure to appear.  Bond:  $16,500.
- 2:27 p.m. Tuesday – Karin Eldridge, 39, Fort Wayne, arrested for failure to appear. Bond: $750.
- 3:41 p.m. Tuesday – Ernesto Macias, 28, of 1962 E. CR 200N, Warsaw, arrested for dealing cocaine. No bond set.
- 4:18 p.m. Tuesday – Amanda Patrick, 22, of 5000 Kuder Road, Warsaw, arrested for maintaining a common nuisance and possession of marijuana. Bond: $2,000.
- 4:31 p.m. Tuesday – Charles Renschler, 33, of 5000 Kuder Road, Warsaw, arrested for maintaining a common nuisance and possessing marijuana.  Bond: $2,000.
- 5:20 p.m. Tuesday – Annalyse Watters, 21, of 202 E. Prairie St., Leesburg, arrested for residential entry and battery. Bond: $2,000.
- 7:23 p.m. Tuesday – Paul Roberts, 28, of 333 Chamberlin Drive, Warsaw, arrested for  possession of paraphernalia and possession of marijuana. Bond: $450.
- 7:53 p.m. Tuesday – Brandon Wolf, 20, of 101 N. Warner Drive, Claypool, arrested for driving while suspended. Bond: $300.
- 10:49 p.m. Tuesday – Gregory Wyman, 28, of 1409 E. Center St., Warsaw, arrested for driving while intoxicated. Bond: $750.

Personal Injury Accidents
- 7:19 p.m. Monday – Intersection of East Fort Wayne and North Buffalo streets, Warsaw. One vehicle struck a bicyclist. Driver: Justin Donovan, 29, Fox Farm Road, Warsaw. Injuries: Matthew Foreman, West Main Street, Warsaw, complained of leg pain. Damage: $1,000 to $2,500. Warsaw Police Department investigated.

Property Damage Accidents
- 12:54 p.m. April, 24 – Intersection of CRs 200 W. and 600S, Claypool. One vehicle struck a utility pole. Driver: Lara Popenfoose, 35, Anchorage Road, Warsaw. Damage: $25,000  to $50,000. Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated.
- 3:57 p.m. April 24 – Springfield West Drive, Warsaw. A vehicle registered to Fransisca Stambaugh, P.O. Box 183, Burket, was struck by Darrell Brooking, 63, West Prairie Street, Leesburg. Damage: $1,000 to $2,500. KCSD.
- 4:07 p.m. April 24 – 1692 E. CR 200N, Warsaw. A vehicle registered to John Sard, East 200 North, Warsaw was struck by an unknown driver. Damage: $1,000 to $;2,500. KCSD.
- 7:50 a.m. April 25 – Intersection of Ind. 13 S. and CR 600S, Pierceton. One vehicle struck a deer. Driver: Tarah Prater, 25, South Village Street, Pierceton. Damage: $2,500 to $5,000. KCSD.
- 3:19 p.m. Thursday – Intersection of County Farm Road and 700S, Claypoool. Two vehicle collision. Drivers: Charlene Vogle, 74, West Beech Street, Warsaw; Trina Hall, 36, West 700 South, Claypool. Damage: $5,000 to $10,000. KCSD. `
- 1:25 p.m. Friday – Intersection of Country Club and Stonebridge roads, Winona Lake. Two vehicle Collision. Drivers: Dale Mort, 52, South 900 East, Pierceton; Kreg Warren, 45, West 200 North, Warsaw. Damage: $2,500 to $5,000. KSCD.
- 1:15 p.m. Saturday – Intersection of U.S. 30 E. and Ind. 13 N., Pierceton. Two vehicle collision. Drivers: Nikki Croteau, 25, New Haven; Ciera Martin, 25, Hartford City. Damage: $2,500 to $5,000. KCSD.
- 11:30 p.m. Saturday – 307 Main Street, Mentone. A vehicle registered to Chandler Miller, E. Wellington Street, Warsaw, was struck by an unknown vehicle. Damage: $1,000 to $2,500. KCSD.
- 6:49 p.m. Sunday – Intersection of Old Road 30 and Riverwood Ranch Road, Warsaw. Two vehicle collision. Drivers: Karen Crines, 49, Fort Wayne; Alexander Carnahan, 17, South Bend. Damage: $5,000 to $10,000. KCSD.
- 9:54 p.m. Sunday – Intersection of CRs 1000 W. and 900S, Mentone. One vehicle struck a mailbox. Driver: Tracey Gagnon, 42, South 890 West, Akron. Damage: $1,000 to $2,500. KCSD.
- 4:30 p.m. Monday – Intersection of East Winona Avenue and South Indiana Street, Warsaw. Two vehicle collision. Drivers: Dan Roberts, 49, South 1000 West, Claypool; Julie Reavis, 19, North 300 West, North Manchester. Damage: $1,000 to $2,500. WPD.

Sheriff Addressed Issues In The Jail Since Taking Office
Once taking office I knew how important it was going to be to have the right leadership in every division of the office, and the jail was certainly no exception. Upon taking office, I appointed Lt. Kevin Gelbaugh as the jail commander and Chad Marsh as the assistant jail commander, and to say I am proud of all their work and accomplishments would be an understatement.

Pierceton Budget Approved, Trick-Or-Treat Night Set
PIERCETON — The town of Pierceton's 2025 budget was adopted Monday evening by the council, following no additional comments. The budget totals $1,588,620, with an adopted tax levy of $329,605 and a tax rate of $0.6263.
