 The following people were preliminarily charged and booked into the Kosciusko County Jail:
n 6:10 a.m. Thursday – Kyle A. Jarrett, 29, of 3578 N. Barbee Road, No. 4, Warsaw, arrested on a warrant for another Indiana agency. No bond set.
n 10:45 a.m. Thursday – Braska Sue Cartwright, 20, of 8709 E. Hatchery Road, Syracuse, arrested for dealing salvia or a synthetic cannabinoid. Bond: $2,000.
n 3:25 p.m. Thursday – Kayla N. Clevenger, 25, of 4887 E. Sumac Lane, North Webster, arrested for failure to appear. Bond: $750.
n 4:20 p.m. Thursday – Jacob M. Makinson, 30, of 2441 W. CR 250S, No. 138, Warsaw, arrested on two counts of driving while suspended. Bond: $1,500.
n 5:42 p.m. Thursday – Alexis Rayann Henry, 18, of 1920 Robin Drive, Warsaw, arrested for burglary and theft – less than $100,000 in value. Bond: $2,000.
n 5:57 p.m. Thursday – Ritchie Hernandez Jr., 21, of 4184 N. Allen Lane, Warsaw, arrested for burglary, theft – less than $100,000 in value, possession of an altered handgun and failure to appear. Bond: $2,000.
n 10:57 p.m. Thursday – Joseph Carl Cain, 59, of 308 N. Pickwick Drive, Syracuse, arrested for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. Bond: $550.

n 11:35 a.m. Thursday – West Market Street, 600 feet east of West Center Street, Warsaw. Driver swerved to avoid a collision and struck a utility pole. Driver: Juan P. Sanchez Brito, 18, Dot Street, Warsaw. Damages: $5,000 to $10,000. Warsaw Police Department investigated.
n 5:26 p.m. Thursday – 1269 Husky Trail, Warsaw. Two-vehicle collision. Drivers: Teresa M. Siders, 32, South Ind. 19, Akron; Jeremy D. Makinson, 33, East CR 200N, Pierceton. Damages: $2,500 to $5,000. WPD.
n 7:27 p.m. Thursday – Intersection of South Ind. 15 and South Jefferson Street, Silver Lake. Vehicle struck deer. Driver: John F. Hatton, 17, West CR 1150N, North Manchester. Damages: $1,000 to $2,500. Silver Lake Police Department investigated.
n 8:56 p.m. Thursday – East CR 750N, 200 feet east of EMS T34 Lane, Warsaw. Vehicle struck deer. Driver: Mark R. Aker, 43, North Kalorama Road, Leesburg. Damages: $1,000 to $2,500. Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department investigated.
n 2:01 a.m. today – East Van Ness Road, 32 feet east of East U.S. 30, Pierceton. Vehicle struck deer. Driver: Denis N. Morin, 53, Fort Wayne. Damages: $2,500 to $5,000. KCSD.

Sheriff Addressed Issues In The Jail Since Taking Office
Once taking office I knew how important it was going to be to have the right leadership in every division of the office, and the jail was certainly no exception. Upon taking office, I appointed Lt. Kevin Gelbaugh as the jail commander and Chad Marsh as the assistant jail commander, and to say I am proud of all their work and accomplishments would be an understatement.
