The following people were preliminarily charged and booked into the Kosciusko County Jail:

n 7:45 a.m. Thursday - Manuel Barba, aka Alberto M. Herrera, 33, of 3699 N. CR 175E, Warsaw, arrested for possession of a controlled substance and public intoxication. Bond: $2,000.

n 9:27 a.m. Thursday - Rusty Leroy Jefferson, 30, of 340 E. Levi Lee Road, Warsaw, arrested for failure to appear. Bond: $500.

n 4 p.m. Thursday - Michelle Cabrera, 28, of 4670 W. CR 400N, Warsaw, arrested for domestic battery. Bond: $500.

n 4:23 a.m. today - Mario Rodriguez Jr., 27, of 506 Meadow View Drive, Syracuse, arrested for driving while intoxicated. Bond: $550.

n 9:11 p.m. Nov. 29 - A Warsaw man reported being battered. Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department investigated.

n 9:37 p.m. Thursday - Three Cromwell residents reported hearing gunshots. Officers recovered five .9mm casings near 9508 E. King Arthur Trail, Cromwell. KCSD.

n 11:47 p.m. Thursday - Donald E. Sloan, Armstrong Road, Warsaw, reported the theft of a dark green 1994 Ford Explorer and two bottles of prescription medication from his residence. KCSD.

n 12:10 p.m. Thursday - An employee of Wilby's Gas & Goodies, Lake Street, Warsaw, reported a gas theft. Loss: $28.26. Warsaw Police Department investigated.

n 6 p.m. Thursday - Ken Locke, 501 E. Arthur St., Warsaw, reported a welfare check. WPD.

n 8:59 p.m. Thursday - Roy Dean Kindig, Market Street, Warsaw, reported an identity theft. WPD.
