By Staff Report-

NORTH MANCHESTER – The North Manchester Historical Society and Manchester Shepherd’s Center invite the public to join them on a day trip to Indianapolis Dec. 2.
The day will begin by boarding a luxury coach to travel to the Eiteljorg Museum for a guided tour and an opportunity to view the model train set up on display during December and January. This exhibit has seven working trains crisscrossing the room.
The real beauty of this display, according to the society, is the fantastic job that has been done with all the detailed scenes of national parks and other landmarks basically west of the Mississippi. The displays are made entirely of natural materials. Docents and train engineers are available to answer any questions you may have.
They will go next door to the Indiana State Museum for lunch followed by a guided tour of the museum.  Special exhibits during December are the “John Dillinger’s 1933 Essex Terraplane Display” and “American Spirits: The Rise and Fall of Prohibition.” Leaving town, the group will stop at Holly Hock Hill for a family style chicken dinner before heading back to North Manchester.
Cost for the all inclusive trip is $89 per person.
To ask a question or make a reservation contact Bernie Ferringer, Tour Coordinator, 314 Sunset Dr. North Manchester, IN 46962, email him at [email protected], or call 260-982-8734 or 260-901-3323.
