Protect Workers

Jennifer Arnold had placed a question in a recent article wondering what category do those individuals fall into who had been fired and replaced in a work environment.

It is amazing to me that Jennifer assumes only the bad workers have been fired and someone's great work ethic is always rewarded.

I am wondering if Jennifer is living in TV Land with Andy and Aunt Bea?

Let's bring her back to the real world were money has become the motivator of all things.

I personally know an individual who was fired right before retirement. Or how about that individual who worked their life away and dedicated all their time to work for what they deserve, just to be replaced by a college graduate for less pay?

I do not consider vacation, pension or insurance an entitlement. That is what you work toward. People work to support their family, however, let's not forget while working hard people do this also in order to secure their future and enjoy retirement age.

I hate to burst your bubble, Jennifer, however, entitlements are not over and they never will be when people make a career out of the welfare system.

So who are you to judge Mr. Slone's work ethic? You have no idea the circumstances in which he had worked.

My question to Jennifer is, what category do you fall in? If you say you work hard everyday, pay into company insurance and plan a family vacation every year, well don't you think that is hypocritical? If you say your insurance comes from Medicaid, isn't that entitlement? Unions were created to protect the good workers. Unfortunately, like everything else it has been abused.

Understanding Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs) And Using Them
Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs) are for people over the age of 70.5 years old. Unlike other distributions, which are taxed at ordinary income tax rates, Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs) allow for a tax-free distribution from an IRA, provided that the distribution goes directly to a qualified charity.
