Prescription

A couple of weeks ago I called my doctor to get a prescription refilled. A short time later the receptionist called me back and said I needed to see the doctor.
Last Thursday was my appointment. Upon entering the exam room the nurse told me that the Indiana Legislature had passed a bill that requires a doctor visit for certain types of medication. In my case that involves a visit every six months for one kind of pill and every four months for another. This results at least an additional four visits per year. For some of us this presents an unnecessary financial burden and a waste of a busy doctor's time. I also had to sign a form with various stipulations regarding my medication. It is my understanding that I can be submitted to a random urine test as well, I assume at my expense.
Yes, I take pain pills. I’m sorry I got old and sorry that my body is wracked with pain from physical labor most of my life. Does this equate the sick with a common criminal? In Indiana that seems to be the case.
Now I read that the county council wants to impose a wheel tax; yet another financial burden to seniors on a fixed income. After 30 years of corporate welfare and billionaire socialism, the only thing that has trickled down is a boat load of debt. This has happened to all levels of government and they’re coming to the young, the elderly, the sick and the old to pay the bills. I guess it’s because we don’t have money to buy politicians.
