Prep Roundup: Columbia City Swimmers Top Tippy Valley

Columbia City defeated Tippecanoe Valley’s swimmers on Thursday; the Lady Eagles winning 89-79 while the boys earned a 90-39 win.
The Lady Vikings’ K. Gunter won the 200-yard individual medley and the 100 butterfly, with L. Stouder winning the 50 freestyle and the 100 breaststroke. Valley also garnered wins in the 200 medley relay and in the diving competiton.
D. Alexander finished second in the 200 IM and third in the 100 butterfly for the Vikings. C. Brower finished second in the 100 backstroke.
The teams travel to Huntington North on for a meet at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday

Whitko couldn’t recover from an early defecit in a 64-40 loss to visiting Jimtown Friday night. The Jimmies had a 23-point lead after the first quarter, and never looked back.
Nate Walpole had 17 points for the Wildcats, with Devon Adkins adding eight.
Whitko will travel to Syracuse to face Wawasee at 7:30 p.m. Saturday night.

Tristiin Ponsler pinned his opponent and Stephel Possell earned a 4-1 victory for the Warriors.
