By Staff Report-

The Ohio company that owns Spartech in Warsaw has informed the Indiana Department of Labor that it is closing the plant that employs 110 people, the Fort Wayne Journal Gazette reported this morning.
PolyOne Designed Structures and Solutions has submitted a notice of plans to permanently close operation at the facility at 3454 N. Detroit St., as required by the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act.
The notice said terminations will take effect beginning in January and completing by October, according to the newspaper.
PolyOne, which acquired Spartech in March, first announced in July the closure of Spartech and five other facilities by the end of 2014. Production at the closing North American facilities will be shifted to other PolyOne locations, and  the closings are expected to result in a net reduction of approximately 250 employees, a company representative told the Times-Union.
The facility closures and relocations are expected to generate annualized pre-tax savings of approximately $25 million in 2015, according to PolyOne’s July announcement.[[In-content Ad]]
