Police are looking for a man suspected of robbing a local ice cream parlor at closing time Sunday.
According to a Warsaw Police Department report, an employee of Ritter's Ice Cream, Lake City Highway, Warsaw, was grabbed from behind as he exited the building sometime prior to police being called at 11:19 p.m.
The 22-year-old male employee said he left the office area, set the alarm and was leaving when an unknown male came up behind him and pressed what he believes was a gun into his left side. The suspect then told him to go back inside, turn off the alarm and get the money from the safe. He also was told not to look at the suspect.
After retrieving an undetermined amount of cash from the safe, the suspect fled out the back door. Once the employee heard the door shut, he called police.
A K-9 search of the area led police east between a strip mall and a house. The track crossed CR 250E and continued east along a tree line and through a swampy area, where the track ended at Airworx on East Corridor Drive.
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Warsaw Police Department at 372-9511. [[In-content Ad]]
