SILVER LAKE - Police are looking for a white male who robbed the McClure Oil station Tuesday night in Silver Lake.

According to the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department, the suspect entered the business shortly before 8:30 p.m. and walked around the store before approaching the counter. He then displayed a small black handgun, waved it back and forth, and demanded the money from the cash register.

An employee told police she opened the register and placed the whole drawer on the counter. The suspect reportedly pulled the drawer closer and took all of the cash from it before fleeing the business. He was last seen headed northbound on Ind. 15 in a blue or silver two-door car.

A witness told police she saw the car pull into the parking lot between the gas station and the Steer Inn and park for five to seven minutes before the suspect, a passenger in the vehicle, got out of the car and walked to the gas station. A few moments later, the witness said, the same person came running out of the business and jumped into the car. The vehicle then sped away.

The two employees in McClure described the suspect as a white male between 5 feet, 4 inches and 5 feet, 7 inches tall; thin build, weighing 145 to 150 pounds, clean shaven except for a small dark mustache and having dark eyes. He was wearing a black zip-front hooded sweatshirt, dark jeans and white sneakers.

A possible suspect was brought in for questioning, but police said he has an alibi which appears to be solid. He was not charged in the robbery, but was booked into the Kosciusko County Jail on two outstanding warrants.

Anyone with information on this robbery is asked to contact the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department at 267-5667. [[In-content Ad]]
