Police Detain Two In Connection With Etna Green Bank Robbery Friday

Police have two detained two people in the investigation of the robbery at the Etna Green branch of PNC Bank Friday morning.

After receiving numerous consistent tips, police went to the area of Lozier Mobile Home Park, EMS C23 Lane, Warsaw, and apprehended two men around 9:20 p.m. Friday.

According to Kosciusko County Det./Sgt. Jon Tyler, members of the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department, Winona Lake Police Department and its K-9 unit, Warsaw Police Department and its K-9 unit, the Claypool Police Department and the Kosciusko County Drug Task Force followed tips to the area near Little Chapman Lake.

Officers apprehended and detained two males who are possible persons of interest in the theft of a dark maroon 2008 Chevrolet Silverado and the Etna Green robbery Friday morning.

One of the detainees, Brady L. Shepherd, 19, of Ind. 19, Mentone, was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw, after he allegedly told police he took an overdose of pills. Police have not yet had the opportunity to speak to Shepherd because he is undergoing treatment. According to Tyler, it may be a while before police can speak with Shepherd.

The identity of the other person taken into custody has not been released, but he was being questioned at the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department at 11 p.m. Friday.

However, as of 11 p.m. Friday, no one had been booked into the Kosciusko County Jail in relation to the case.

Around 9:30 a.m. Friday, a young white man allegedly entered the Etna Green bank and demanded money without showing a gun or weapon.[[In-content Ad]]He reportedly left the bank on foot and possibly got into the 2008 Silverado and left the scene.

Police are still investigating the incident.
