July 28, 2016 at 4:25 p.m.
Police are continuing their investigation into the Sunday fire in Syracuse that killed two young boys.
Investigators were unavailable for comment today while they conduct interviews in the Syracuse area.
They are also awaiting lab reports on materials taken from the house.
Austin and Justin Reed, 3 and 17 months, were killed when the family home caught on fire Sunday morning. The cause of death has been ruled carbon monoxide poisoning due to smoke inhalation.
David Reed, their father, woke up and smelled smoke. He ran across the street to his grandparents' house to call for help.
The two boys were found in their bed and crib in a rear bedroom of the house. Reed was unable to go back into the house because of the heavy smoke.
Police have termed the cause of the fire "suspicious," but are still searching for evidence. [[In-content Ad]]
