Two area men were arrested over the weekend for methamphetamine offenses.

Travis A. Tarlton, 23, of 542 Lincoln Highway, Bourbon, and Jacey A. Parke, 19, of Tippecanoe, were arrested on marijuana and methamphetamine charges.

On Saturday, at approximately 1:53 a.m., Warsaw police made a traffic stop on a red Pontiac Grand Prix after the vehicle failed to dim its high beam headlights on West Center Street. As the officer spoke with the occupants, he smelled the odor of marijuana. Upon further investigation, the backseat passenger was identified as Jacey Parke, who was found to have marijuana in his pants pocket.

Also located inside the vehicle were multiple glass pipes and a digital weight scale. The driver was identified as Travis Tarlton, who was found to have a handful of gallon plastic bags containing a white powdery substance. The substance was tested and found to be methamphetamine.

Further investigation of Tarlton found him under the influence of methamphetamine. He was transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital for blood and urine testing for the possible charges of operating under the influence of drugs. Those results are pending.

Tarlton was then transported to the Kosciusko County Jail and booked in for possession of methamphetamine. Parke was transported and booked for possession of marijuana.
