Sunday, two out-of-county residents were arrested on drug-related charges.
Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department deputy Shane Bucher was on routine patrol just west of Ind. 15 on CR 900N when he noticed a vehicle pull off the roadway and drive behind a barn suddenly.
Bucher approached the vehicle and noticed the driver bending over his seat as if to hide something. As Bucher questioned the driver and passenger as to why they had hid behind a barn, it was determined that neither subject was a licensed driver and Bucher summoned a tow truck for the vehicle as other county officers arrived.
During the inventory of the vehicle, officers located approximately 9 grams of potential rock cocaine and 29 grams of marijuana that both field tested positive respectively.
Officers arrested Harold Demon Waller, 35, Elkhart, and passenger Robin Ann Soto, 40, Goshen, on preliminary charges of felony possession of cocaine and marijuana.
After the vehicle was moved by the tow truck, officers located another small bag of possible cocaine as well as a small bag of marijuana.
Waller and Soto are both being held on $5,000 bond by KCSD.
