The commission previously discussed the request by petitioner Joe Chester to split the existing lot into two lots at its June 11 meeting.
Chester said he wants to retire and sell the facility to a friend who lives in Washington.
He said he would like to see the facility remain a skating rink. He also said it would not be affordable for his friend to buy the whole property, but if he can buy the back part with the ingress and egress, his friend can afford it.
Commission members said at the June meeting they wanted more information about parking at the facility.
Commissioners reviewed a letter from Steven Shumaker, Rink Planning and Consulting Services, South Milford.
The letter stated more than 70 percent of the customers who use the facility are 14 years of age and younger and do not drive.
The letter also stated the vast majority of the customers are dropped off at the skating facility, and are picked up at the end of the skating session.
Shumaker said he visited the facility to review the property.
He said the facility includes parking for 31 cars on the paved parking lot in the front of the building, and 13 additional parking spaces on the gravel parking lot on the side of the building.
He said the layout includes 12 spaces on the land directly in front of the building and on the east side of the existing paved parking lot, and nine spaces at the rear of the building.
The 21 additional potential parking spaces, along with the 44 existing parking spaces, totaling 65 parking spaces, exceed what normally is recommended for a skating facility servicing a population the size of Warsaw.
