Fred and Delores Plastow, Warsaw, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an ice cream social July 31 at Pleasant View Bible Church, 2782 W. CR 200N, Warsaw, from 2 to 4 p.m.

Fred and the former Delores Yockey were married June 18, 1960, at Worthington (Pa.) Baptist Church by the bride's brother-in-law, Dr. E. Duane King, who was then performing his first marriage as a new pastor.

The Plastows have served 48 years with Avant Ministries (formerly Gospel Missionary Union). Thirty of those years were served in Morocco, Belgium and Spain in gospel ministry and in starting Christian communities and in field oversight. Several years were spent in field recruitment as well as church, college and teaching ministries.

The couple have four children, Lori (and spouse Kurt) Strietzel, Kandern, Germany; Sheryl (and spouse Lary) Strietzel, The Democratic Republic of Congo; Cynthia (and spouse Rod) Ens, Regina, SK, Canada; and Marc (and spouse Tammy), Warsaw; fourteen grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

The Plastows postponed their celebration so their children could be home for this family milestone.

No gifts please.
