Planners To Hear Request To Operate Taxi Service
July 28, 2016 at 4:25 p.m.
Tye Lisenbee, 222 W. Prairie St., is seeking a variance to operate a taxi service with two vehicles in a residential-2 zoned district before the Warsaw Board of Zoning Appeals tonight.
The petitioner requests an additional vehicle for the increased demand of his services. The comprehensive plan indicates the land use is commercial, according to preliminary findings.
Lisenbee has said he would use Washington Street for parking; however, the creation of a hard surface behind his property has been recommended.
While adjacent property owners are in favor of the petition, Fast Cab Taxi Service owner Dave Cesaretti has filed an objection to ASAP Taxi Service's expansion.
The BZA meets at 6:30 p.m., a change from the board's regular meeting time of 7 p.m. the fourth Monday of the month.
Plan Commission Initiates
Rezoning Request
Of 134 Acres
A rezoning request reflecting the best use of land north of Petro Drive and extending to CR 350N will come before the Warsaw Plan Commission at 7 p.m. tonight.
Currently, three parcels are zoned I-2 or light industrial. Commercial use to the south indicates the best use of the property may be C-3, arterial commercial.
The land is owned by Petro Family LLC, the John R. Nye Trust, with Alfred and Marilyn Brandt as trustees and Unitechind Inc.
Two vacation of public way requests will be heard by the planners also.
Cynthia and Rachel Greider, 506 and 510 S. Morton St., request vacation of an unimproved alley; and Darlene Eherenman asks that a 3-foot by 66-foot portion of Perry Street be vacated along the west side of her property.
BZA members are Bruce Woodward, Dan Hampton, Tom Heuer, Rick Keeven and Alan Clingan and city council representative Trish Brown.
Plan commission members are are Alan Clingan, Lacy Francis, Joe Thallemer, Richard Keeven, Jeff Grose, Dewey Lawshe and Jim Gast. [[In-content Ad]]
