The subdivision is planned to be west of Jalynn Street and Wal-Mart, Warsaw.
During Monday's meeting, JR Parent, owner of Yellow Retirement LLC, Fort Wayne, requested a preliminary plat for three lots for Red Warsaw Retirement Subdivision.[[In-content Ad]]The project consists of a three-lot subdivision, with an average lot size of more than three acres.
Parent said the subdivision would include single-unit rental homes with garages for those 55 and older.
He said there are similar subdivisions in Columbia City, Fort Wayne, Auburn and Huntington.
The proposed subdivision will allow the construction of 54 residential units to be constructed on approximately 10.5 acres.
City Planner Jeremy Skinner said the subdivision meets all of the requirements of a subdivision within a residential zoning district.
The commission approved the preliminary plat with the following issues to be addressed prior to final plat approval: the submittal and approval of engineered plans addressing public utilities, streets, and storm water control; the placement and construction of sidewalks; the completion of all public utilities and streets; and submittal and approval for street names on both the proposed new public street and private drive.
