William Kelly appeared before the commission to ask that a 23.4-acre tract of land on CR 850S, east of 600W in Seward Township, be rezoned from agricultural to residential.[[In-content Ad]]As Area Plan Director Dan Richard said, "It would provide a residential link between Diamond and Yellow Creek Lake."
Richard showed video of the location as well as a map of the site.
While there is low-lying, marsh land on the site, both Richard and Kelly told the commission a home would be built on higher ground.
One home that is slated to be built on that site will be built by Tippecanoe Valley's building trades class.
The commission voted unanimously to recommend the rezoning request.
It will go before the county commissioners March 16 at 9:15 a.m. in the old courtroom.
Richard also presented an updated and upgraded copy of his department's rules of procedure. No motions were made or approved concerning the updates.
