Plane Scare Turns Out OK

Warsaw Municipal Airport officials and emergency crews had a scare this morning when an incoming plane contacted the terminal and said its nose gear was not descending properly.
The Shorts 360 plane, operated by Air Cargo Carriers as a contractor for United Parcel Service, was on its way back from Louisiana when the indicator light for the nose gear did not come on.
"Usually in this situation, it's just a bad bulb," said Warsaw Airport Manager David Beall. "I can't say for sure until it is checked out, but I think that's what it was last time this happened."
After the two crew members of the plane reported the problem, they did a low pass of the airport. Airport officials saw that the landing gear was down.
""We saw that the gear was down, but there was still a chance that it was not locked in position," said Beall. "That's why we had the fire department here, just in case."
The plane, which is based in Warsaw but run by a company out of Milwaukee, landed without incident.
