Plan Commission OKs Requests
July 28, 2016 at 4:25 p.m.
Petitioners at the Kosciusko County Area Plan Commission meeting Wednesday were all approved for recommendation to the county commissioners.
One property, on the east side of a private road, south of Hatchery Road in Turkey Creek Township, was approved for recommendation for a preliminary plat approval for a residential development. It is off Old Ind. 8 between Lake Wawasee and Papakeechie Lake. The petitioners, Chris Whitehead and others, were represented by their attorney.
The four lots petitioned for by Whitehead were reduced to three lots, which will be on sewer service.
A residential district on 21.94 acres was approved. The development, petitioned by Betty Berkey, is on the south side of CR 350N and one-fourth mile west of CR 100E in Plain Township.
One request that almost wasn't approved was Robert Miller's petition to rezone an area in North Manchester from agricultural to agricultural II land. The Millers want to have a home for themselves and a mobile home for their son.
The land, southwest of CR 600E and Ind. 14, is in an isolated agricultural area. The number of sell-offs have been exhausted, which is why the Millers want to rezone their 4.9 acres.
The commission approved the petition by a vote of 5 to 3.
The Kosciusko County commissioners will vote on the plan commission's recommendations at the commissioners' Oct. 13 meeting. [[In-content Ad]]
