Clarice Nist loved her adopted home "down under" so much that she bought a piece back with her.

After two years in Australia, Nist, a Pierceton resident, has returned to Kosciusko County ready to start her next adventure - one that protects the environment and nurtures faith.

Nist is the new United States representative for Heartsong - an infant and young children's clothing and gift label.

Heartsong's collection is made with certified organic, eco-friendly fabrics and features faith-inspired designs. It is the first time the brand has expanded to America.

"When I first saw the Heartsong product range, I just knew that they would appeal to American families, too," Nist said. "The Christian designs, fresh edge and organic quality of the label set it apart."

Nist met Heartsong founder Melinda Chiew at church while in Sydney, Australia, where Clarice and her husband Jon relocated for work.

Nist fell in love with Heartsong's products and initially bought the organic clothing for her nieces and nephews back home.

The friendship with Melinda soon turned into a business partnership, and now Nist will help the clothing label expand into the US. She hopes to help families see the value of choosing organic clothing for their children.

"Children are a gift from the Lord and deserve the very best. The environment is also a gift and we're all responsible for taking care of it. Organic fabric production ensures that our children and environment are protected and not exposed to any harmful chemicals," Nist explained.

Nist will hold a launch party for Heartsong at her church on Saturday at Fellowship Baptist Church, Warsaw, from 1 to 3 p.m. All are invited to participate.

The collection will also be available to purchase securely online starting March 1 at www.heartsongcreations.net
