After a successful opening non-profit consignment sale, Pierceton Children's Resale is set for Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Last fall, the first sale was held and featured gently used maternity and children's items.

Last year, five local families were given free shopping vouchers for around $250 to be used at the sale to purchase winter coats and clothing for their children.

Maternity clothing was also donated to Heartline Pregnancy Center.

Once again, the sale is non-profit and serves as a ministry for First Baptist Church of Pierceton. The church, 208 W. Market St., Pierceton, is hosting the sale.

The church doesn't benefit financially from the sale.

Those who contribute items pay a $5 fee but receive 100 percent of the sold items profit.

The $5 helps cover the cost of holding the sale as well as provides free shopping vouchers to local needy families.

Contributors are allowed to mark items "donate", and any of the unsold items that have been marked as "donate" are then taken to local charities. The sale is open to the public and is intended to help families purchase gently used items at a fraction of the cost of new items.

Check, credit or debit cards aren't accepted.
