Pierceton Elementary Talent Show

Pierceton Elementary School recently held its 14th annual Star Search Talent Show. There were 23 student acts in the categories of vocal, instrumental, dance and variety. Bill Rhodes was master of ceremonies to the crowd of more than 300 people. Judges for the talent show were Caroline Nye, former talent show director and retired teacher; Laura Davis, retired teacher; and Trisha Shoemaker, current music instructor for both Pierceton and South Whitley elementary schools. This year’s director was Julie Underhill. Shown (L to R) are this year's winners, front row: Angel Holbert and Mallory Mulligan and first person in back row, Cara McCrum, who won first place in the dance category; continuing in front row are Chloe Hathaway, second for variety with her gymnastic routine; Riley VanCleave, second in instrumental with his piano solo; Zack Stump, first in instrumental on drums; Mayci Schlichter, first with her gymnastic routine; and Ethan and Dylan Cassidy, third with their vocal duet; second row: Garrett Banuelos and Isaiah McGuire, third place in variety with their comedy routine; Caleb Peconga, third for his guitar solo; Ashlaun Dutton, first in vocal; and Jaycie Thomas placed second with her vocal solo. People’s Choice Awards went to Ashlaun Dunton, in vocal; Mallory Mulligan, Cara McCrum, Angel Holbert in dance; Mayci Schlichter, Garrett Banuelous and Isaiah McGuire tied in the variety category; and in instrumental, Zach Stump. Other students preforming were Meagan Christoffel, Meghan Leppek, Amanda Leppek, Lily Spurlin, Alex Hoover, Saira Macias, Aidan Tucker, Drew Tenney, Bailea Tackett, Kylie Cook, Erin Bennett, Aleigh Hill, Abigail Hartman and Makayla Berg. Ten members of the PES staff then closed the show with a dance performance to the song ‘Thriller.’[[In-content Ad]]
