A resident asked what could be done concerning kids who walk home from Pierceton Elementary.

The town reviewed possibly changing its golf cart ordinance.
Pierceton Town Marshal Tim Sammons said that during Pierceton Days a car was struck by a golf cart driven by a 10-year-old girl.
The couple whose car was damaged was at the meeting asked the board what they planned to do.
"Our (golf cart) ordinance when it comes out, will reflect the values of the community," said said board president Jerry Hartman.
"We can create an ordinance but all we can do is give out a ticket," said board member Jerry Kreger.
Kreger noted that financial responsibility will fall to the person whose property is damaged unless the ordinance requires proof of insurance on the golf cart.
Annie Espinoza asked the town board what avenue she could take concerning an abandoned house in town.
The board directed her to call the county board of health.
"We as a town don't have the financial wherewithal to tear houses down," said Kreger.
Town attorney Jim Walmer wasn't present to answer any legal questions concerning what recourse could be taken.
Resident Jack Phillips asked the board why they hadn't addressed an illegal sewer hook up in town.
"This is the first I've heard about it," said board member Mandy Espinoza.
Phillips said he discussed the issue with Kreger after a town board meeting.
"If you want to discuss this you need to do it during the meeting," said Kreger of Phillips' accusations. "The problem is we have to meet in public. You can't come and whisper something into my ear after the meeting."
Kreger and Phillips exchanged words including Phillips accusing Kreger of stating he knew of several illegal sewer hookups in town.
The board tabled a decision on whether or not to hang a charter on the wall of the community room for the Lions Club, which is celebrating its 80th year in Pierceton.
"We want to come up with something that is fair to everyone that uses this room," said Kreger.
"We'll put our heads together on this and we got one month to do this," said Hartman.
John Sammons, from the American Legion Post 258, read a prepared statement from the post chronicling some of what the Post does in Pierceton, like sponsoring a cornhole tournament and concert during this year's Pierceton days, as well as what the Legion does throughout the country.
Sammons thanked the town and thanked the local boy scouts for volunteering during Pierceton Days as well as events on Memorial Day.
The board granted a request from the American Legion Post 258 Ladies' Auxiliary to hold a "healing field" at Brower Park Sept. 11-13. Flags will be sold then placed in the park in memory of those who died while serving their country.
A resident asked about a street light that flickered at the corner of Fourth and Elm streets. The board directed the resident to contact NIPSCO since the light is leased through them.
Kim Rose, who runs Pierceton Days, said this year's event was a success and asked the board to allow her use of Brower Park Aug. 6-7, 2010.
Rose said planning for Pierceton Days takes a year.
Rose also reminded the board that Day of Caring will take place Aug. 26 and 13 homes in Pierceton will be worked on.
The board informed those in attendance that they are waiting on a grant request to address storm sewers.
Sammons gave a status update on a federal grant the town applied for as well as was given the board's "blessing" to meet with Walmer to re-word ordinances in town.
