Pierceton Chamber Plans Events

Starting out the year is the second annual pancake and sausage breakfast, Jan. 31 from 8 to 11 a.m. at Pierceton United Methodist Church. The price is a freewill offering ($5 suggested).
The Vintage Motorcycle Rally will be May 23 in Brower Park, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with free admission. Over 100 motorcycles were present last year. The rally also includes a swamp tent, awards in many categories, a 50/50 raffle and door prizes.
June will see the Pierceton Open House, honoring citizens, businesses and the spirit of the community. Aug. 22 is the free Heirloom Tomato Festival, which includes a 5K run/walk and the Agricultural Art Show. This event has close to 1,000 visitors to experience salsa making, best tomato pie contest, or taste a traditional tomato sandwich or fried green tomato.
In the fall/winter is holiday shopping with Shop Small Saturday after Thanksgiving and the Primitive Show the first weekend of December.
New this year is a fundraiser with Dan’s Pies, with tickets sold May 15 to June 15 for pies to be picked up Memorial to Labor Day. A new season of the Pierceton Market is from May to October and the inventive Meat Fundraiser in the winter.
