Phyllis Marie Heckaman Swick,  77, of Pierceton, passed away at 11 p.m. Nov. 23, 2012, in Grace Village Health Care, Winona Lake.
She was born April 9, 1935, in Kosciusko County, to Forrest and Anna Marie Heyde Heckaman. On June 2, 1953, in Silver Lake, she married Lowell Swick, who survives.
She was a graduate of Burket High School in 1953. She had 25 years of service with the U.S. Postal Service and retired in 1995 as the Pierceton, Ind., postmaster. She was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, Pierceton; the National Association of Postmasters of the United States; and United Methodist Women.
Also surviving are two sons, Terry L. (and spouse Patty) Swick, Angola, and Thomas J. (and spouse Sue) Swick, Lee’s Summit, Mo.; daughters, Debra D. (and spouse Mike) Archer, Vevay, and Donna D. (and spouse Tom) Balazs, Winona Lake; siblings: Seward Heckaman, Rosemary Williamson, Maxine Taylor, Doyle Heckaman, Karen Bucher and Diane Bedic; 18 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, with Pastor Brenda Fritz officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw, and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church.
