She was born in Mexico and came to the United State when she was 8 months old. She lived in California and returned to Mexico, where she met Glenn Phillips while he was vacationing. They married Sept. 4, 1972 and he died in 2000.
She was a homemaker and took care of her daughter, Chrisy Bates and two granddaughters, Karla and Ana.
She moved to Grace Village and enjoys singing “You Are My Sunshine” to the staff.
She will celebrate her birthday at 2:30 p.m. March 31 at Grace Village Health Care.
