NORTH MANCHESTER - Philip G. Seitner, 88, of North Manchester, and formerly of Chicago, Ill., died at 2 a.m. Feb. 9, 2008, in Peabody Healthcare Center, North Manchester.

He was born June 20, 1919, in North Manchester, to Darley R. and Marie Heeter Seitner.

A research scientist, he worked with the American Medical Association, Encyclopedia Britannica and retired from Baxter-Travenall Corp., Chicago. He graduated from Central High School, North Manchester, in 1937, earned a bachelor's degree in science from Manchester College and a master's degree and Ph.D. from Purdue University.

Surviving is a sister, Carolyn Reahard, North Manchester.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Peabody Chapel, North Manchester, with Pastors Larry Ray and J.P. Freeman officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, North Manchester.

Calling is two hours prior to the service Tuesday at Peabody Chapel.

DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary, North Manchester, is in charge of arrangements.
