Peggy Jo Evans, 72, of Warsaw, died at 2 p.m. March 24, 2010, in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.

She was born March 11, 1938, in Ironton, Ohio, to Roy Allen and Helen Wilson Creger. On Feb. 19, 1983, in Warsaw, she married Rex L. Evans, who survives.

Living most of her life in the Warsaw area, she was a cook at Miller's Merry Manor, Warsaw, for three years, retiring Jan. 1, 2000. She was a member of Warsaw Eagles and the Warsaw American Legion Auxiliary.

Also surviving are five daughters: Sherry (and spouse Leonard) Blanton and Paula Blankenship, all of Rochester; Elaine (and spouse Ron) Trumbull and Patty Jacobs, all of Warsaw; and Linda (and spouse Tom) Stapleton, Lake City, Fla.; a son, Robert (and spouse Mary Beth) Shelton, Warsaw; 19 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; four brothers: Roy (and spouse Elpha) Creger, Jacksonville, Fla.; Gary (and spouse Bonita) Creger, Ironton, Ohio; Richard Creger, New Gainey, Texas; and Mike (and spouse Dena) Barber, Deering, Ohio; five sisters: Mary Ann Smith, New Port, Mich.; Debbie Gillispie, Clean Creek, Ariz.; Kay Scherer and Brenda Rutledge, both of Florence, Ariz.; and Louise Malburg, Clean Creek, Ariz. She was preceded in death by her father, Roy Allen Creger, and her mother, Helen Wilson Creger Barber.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, with Pastor Roy Creger, her brother, officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.

Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
