She was born Dec. 7, 1937, in Warsaw, to Hazen Orlo and Emmalu Elizabeth Finkenbiner Shideler. On July 22, 1956, she married James Paris Keeton, who survives in Warsaw.
She was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, where she worked at L.M. Berry, Western Union and Lake City Bank, and she was also a school bus driver for Warsaw Community Schools. She loved her kids on the school bus, enjoyed boating and softball games, as well as being an assistant softball coach. She attended Warsaw Wesleyan Church.
She was a loving wife and mother and was friendly to all she met. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren.
She also leaves behind three daughters: Brenda (and spouse Kenneth) Wright, and Jodi (and spouse Kevin) Gilbert, all of Warsaw; Janice (and spouse Michael) Cook, Fort Wayne; six grandchildren: Staci (and spouse Thomas) Young, Warsaw; Stephen Wright, Bloomington; Gene (and spouse Kailyn) Garver and Christian Garver, all of Warsaw; Noah and Micah Cook, Fort Wayne; three step-grandchildren: Beth (and spouse T.J.) Barrus, Anthony (and spouse Johannah) Gilbert and Timothy Gilbert, all of Warsaw; one great-grandchild, Jayden Young; two step-great-grandchildren, Constantine and MacKenzie Barrus, both of Warsaw; and her brother, Max (and spouse Cophine) Shideler, Muncie. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Monna Goon; and her great-granddaughter, Adrienne Young.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, with the Rev. Richard Gilbert officiating. Burial is in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
