AKRON – Peggy A. Wiley, 82, died at 8:28 a.m. April 15, 2013, in Mason Health & Rehab, Warsaw, where she resided.
She was born April 11, 1931, in Connersville, to LeRoy and Odessa Bacon Burns. On April 20, 1947, in Connersville, she married John H. Gansert, who died April 11, 1968. On Dec. 15, 1973, in North Webster, she married Wayne A. Wiley, who died Dec. 27, 2010.
She moved to Warsaw from Connersville in 1962. She attended Connersville High School. She worked at  DePuy, Warsaw, in the packaging and receiving/shipping department for 25 years, retiring in 1998.
She was a member of Claypool United Methodist Church. She loved to make cakes and mints. She had a hobby of collecting salt and pepper shakers. Her grandchildren were very important to her and helping others.
Surviving are three daughters, Jeri Hunt, Cicero,  and Penny (and spouse Richard) Thomas and Johnna Knisely, all of Warsaw; three stepchildren: David (and spouse Linda) Wiley, Warsaw; Rex (and spouse Loraine) Wiley, Arcadia; and Karen (and spouse Scott) Schuster, Fishers; two brothers, Bob (and spouse Ardy) Burns, California, and Rod (and spouse Doris) Burns, New Jersey; a sister, Sharon Jones, Riverside, Calif.; a brother-in-law, Bill Lumia, New Jersey; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and eight step-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, David Burns; three sisters, Betty Gansert, Patty Lumia and Susie Burns; and her precious Dalmatian dog, Hoosier.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Earl-Love Funeral Home, 811 E. Rochester St., Akron, officiated by the Rev. Mike Settles of Claypool United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Oswego Cemetery.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
