NORTH MANCHESTER – Pearlie Lee Boyce, 106, of North Manchester, died at 1 p.m. Dec. 11, 2011, in Timbercrest Healthcare Center.

She was born Feb. 24, 1905, in Oklahoma Territory, to Henry and Minnie Belle Fillmore Holderread. In 1934, she married Wallace Boyce.

She graduated from McPherson (Kan.) College in 1931 with a bachelor’s degree in home economics. After completing college, she worked with the Santee Indians in Nebraska for a year and taught grade school for 10 years at Stillwater, Okla. At First Methodist Church she was a secretary for 13 years and a designated church visitor for three years. In her later years she moved to Wheaton, Ill., to the home of her son, where she lived for 14 years. In 1995 she moved to the Church of the Brethren Retirement Center, Timbercrest, North Manchester.

Surviving are two children, Paul Boyce, Wheaton, and Dona Boyce-Manoukian (and spouse Paul), Arlington, Va.; three grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; and three sisters: Doris Miller (and Olden Mitchell), North Manchester; Barbara Smith, Newton, Kan.; and Leona Ward, Ponca City, Okla.

Services will be at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday at Timbercrest Chapel, North Manchester. Burial will be in Oklahoma.

McKee Mortuary, North Manchester, is in charge of arrangements.
