Peace

I could not believe my ears when I heard on the radio that G. W. Bush signed an executive order, back in July, allowing our military to mount operations in Pakistan without any permission. What? Would we stand-by if (Russia) did that to us? No! How arrogant and disrespectful of the president to do this. Who gave him a blank check to kill people? America's foreign policy needs to be changed.
The United States is part of a bigger community and should act like it. Be a peer of the world and not a bully. If there is one thing I've learned over the years is if you want respect, first you have to give it.
A few months ago there was a poll done in Europe that stated that more people considered the U.S. a threat to world peace than any terrorist organization. I can see why. Is this something we can expect from McCain if he gets in office? Another threat to world peace?
Every year at Christmas time I see signs and receive Christmas cards that say, "Peace on Earth and good will toward man." And when I pray that is the first thing I pray for: peace on Earth and good will toward man. It's not something I unpack when the snow starts to fly, but something I hold in my heart all year long. By voting for Obama, I'm hoping he is young enough, strong enough to make that sort of change. One closer step towards peace.
