Pay Raises Approved For Manchester Administrators

NORTH MANCHESTER - Hourly employees, bus drivers and administrators at Manchester Community Schools will receive a pay raise.
The Manchester School Board of Trustees approved the raises at their regular meeting Tuesday night.
Hourly employees, including aids, custodial staff, secretarial and clerical staff and cooks, will receive a 2 percent raise.
Bus drivers will see their pay increase by $2 per day. They also will receive an increase of 10 cents in pay per day for each year of experience.
Pay for administrators will increase according to a revised pay schedule.
The raise will be paid retroactive to the beginning of the school year.
In other business, the board:
• Approved a Bond Bank Resolution for $726,000 ($683,000 from the general fund and $43,000 from the bus replacement fund). The money is borrowed temporarily until property tax revenue is received.
• Approved the hiring of Jeremy Zile as assistant swim coach at Manchester High School and Darla Cain as secretary/treasurer at Manchester Elementary School.
• Accepted the resignation of Cain as special education paraprofessional at MES.
• Approved a student request to waive the second trimester of attendance for medical reasons.
• Approved the technology plan for 2006-08.
• Accepted a $125 donation from Daniel Myers toward the Fluoride Fund for the elementary schools.
• Accepted grants from Title II, Part A, Improving Teach Quality State Grant for $56,994; Title II, Part D, Enhancing Education Through Technology for $2,997; Title IV, Part A, Safe and Drug-Free Schools and Communities for $6,442; Title V, Part A, Innovative Programs for $8,400; Community Foundation of Wabash County, Manchester Community School Board, National School Boards Association Conference for $12,855.
