Paul W. Hurst, 49, passed away at 1 p.m. Jan. 2, 2013, in Warsaw.
He was born Nov. 15, 1963, in Huntingburg, to Clarence and Mildred Bleemel Hurst.
He was a Warsaw resident since 1985, moving to Warsaw after graduating from Vincennes University in 1984 with an associate’s degree in business administration. He was a former accountant for Ace Hardware, Warsaw, and currently worked at Payleap, Warsaw, as a new account specialist.
His social affiliations include Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Warsaw, where he served as a member of the finance committee, an usher and a collection counter.  He was a member of Archbishop Noll Council 4511 of the Knights of Columbus, Warsaw, since June 1, 1989, and was a 3rd Degree Knight. He served the Knights of Columbus as the current council financial secretary and was formerly awarded the Financial Secretary of the Year Award for the State of Indiana. He was an active volunteer in all aspects of his church and the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his loving family, including his father, Clarence O. Hurst, Huntingburg; two sisters, Susan (and spouse Richard Jr.) Marshall, Bloomington, and Debra (and spouse Todd) Voegerl, Jasper; a brother, Michael Hurst (and companion Susan Miller), Muncie; nieces and nephews, Benjamin, Sarah, Hannah and Jacob Marshall and Autumn and Jordan Voegerl. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Hurst, who died April 9, 2006.
A Mass of Christian burial was at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Warsaw, with Father Phil De Volder officiating. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw, was in charge of arrangements.

Playing the final game of the regular season Friday night, the Warsaw football team looked to end the campaign on a high not with a trip to Middlebury to take on Northridge. Thanks to some outstanding defense as well as two special teams scores, the Tigers were able to head into sectional play with a three-game winning streak under their belts with a 42-13 win.
