Paul E. Rubenacker, 73, Pierceton, passed away Feb. 2, 2016, at his home as the result of injuries suffered in a house fire.
He was born Oct. 24, 1942, in Memphis, Tenn., to Robert Paul and Phyllis Ann Baker Rubenacker. On May 25, 2001, in Run Away Bay, Jamaica, he married Barbara Jean Brejcha Hanger, who preceded him in death.
He graduated from Cairo High School, Cairo, Ill., and from DeVry University, Illinois. He retired as a linesman from Lyons & Pinner Electric Company Local 9 IBEW, Brookfield, Ill., after 40 years and moved to the Pierceton area permanently in December 2014 after spending summers and weekends there since 2004.
He was a member of ABATE of Illinois and was a former Boy Scout leader.
Surviving are three daughters: Stephanie (and spouse William) Squires, Hoffman Estates, Ill.; Heather (and spouse Ronny) Estrada and Catherine (and spouse Casey Schmidt) Rubenacker, all of Romeoville, Ill,.; two sons, John (and spouse Lisa) Rubenacker, Joliet, lll., and Timothy (and spouse Nichol) Rubenacker, Romeoville; 16 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a brother, Robert (and spouse Brenda) Rubenacker, Auburn, Ill. He also was preceded in death by his parents.
Private family services will be held in Illinois at a later date. Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, Warsaw.
Owen Family Funeral Home, North Webster, is in charge of arrangements.
