He was born Sept. 11, 1953, in Prestonsburg, Ky., to Willie and Helen Adams Risner. On June 28, 1973, in Wise, Va., he married Irene Prater, who survives in Silver Lake.
He was a lifetime resident of Silver Lake. He retired from Dalton Foundry after 30 years. He attended Pentecostal Lighthouse Church in Warsaw. He was a simple man who loved being with his wife, his daughters and his grandchildren. He also enjoyed the outdoors.
Also surviving are two daughters, Martha (and spouse Darrin) Walther, Claypool, and Jessica (and spouse Corey) Leasure, Silver Lake; three brothers: James (and spouse Barb) and Danny (and spouse Donna) Risner, all of Warsaw; Joe (and spouse Billie) Risner, Akron; two sisters, Drema (and spouse Todd) Montgomery, Burket, and Debbie Risner, LaPaz; five grandchildren: Alyssa Walther, Claypool; Paul and Peyton Leasure, both of Silver Lake; Keri Leasure, Warsaw; Austin Leasure, Mentone; and his mother, Helen Reynolds, Plymouth. He was preceded in death by his father and a niece.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with Pastor Glenn Hall of Harvest Community Church, Pierceton, officiating. Burial is in Lakeview Cemetery, Silver Lake.
Calling is from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral chapel.
