Paul D. “Pete” Adams, 80, Warsaw, passed away at 12:45 p.m. May 12, 2015, at his residence.
He was born Feb. 6, 1935, in Claypool, to Lawrence and Helen Keplinger Adams. On July 3, 1962, in Skokie, Ill., he married Lora Mae Brooks, who preceded him in death Jan. 9, 2007.
He attended school in Iowa, Illinois and in Claypool. He served in the U.S. Army from Dec. 7, 1953, to Dec. 3, 1955. He went on to work as a mechanic at the Ford Garage in Warsaw. He retired as a professional truck driver.
His hobbies included golfing and fishing with his many friends both here and in Florida. For years, he was a daily customer at Breading’s Cigar Store and in more recent times, he enjoyed playing cards and visiting with friends at the American Legion Post #49, Warsaw, occasionally stopping for his favorite doughnut at Wabash Donuts.
He is survived by five sisters: Mary E. Smith, Pierceton; Lois Kline and Peg (and spouse Steve) Kimmerling, all of Warsaw; Nancy (and spouse Bill) Patrick, Sidney; Kay Snyder, Claypool; and many extended family members. He also was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Adams; two infant brothers; and a nephew, Rick Snyder.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, with Pastor Glenn Hall officiating. Military honors will be conducted by American Legion Post #49 and VFW Post #1126, both of Warsaw.
There is no calling planned.
McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, is entrusted with arrangements.
