Patty Deaton, 83, died suddenly and peacefully in her sleep early Nov. 2, 2012.
She was born June 23, 1929, to Carlton and Alice  Merkle Jones, Claypool. On Nov. 5, 1947, she married Wilfred Lowell “Bud” Deaton, who survives.
She attended the Methodist Church. She was a 1947 graduate of Claypool High School and attended Purdue University. For more than 45 years she and Bud operated Deaton Equipment Sales, Claypool, retiring into farming for several years before finally retiring in 2010 to live in Bonita Springs, Fla.
Also surviving are two daughters, Christine McLaren, Drouin, Australia, and Connie Deaton, Bonita Springs; and a son, Tim (and spouse Marie) Deaton, Bonita Springs. She was preceded in death by a sister and a son.
