She was born Jan. 11, 1934, in Floyd County, Ky., to Eddrell and Opal Stanley Miller. On April 20, 1951, in Paintsville, Ky., she married Gene Walters, who died June 28, 1994.
She moved to Warsaw from Kentucky 10 years ago. She worked for the Census Bureau for many years. She also sold Avon products and worked in marketing and merchandising for various department stores.
She was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Paintsville. She was a great mom, who raised seven children, and was a great-grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She loved to square dance, and was a regular pioneer for many years.
She is survived by two sons, Eddrell Stuart Walters, Versailles, Ky., and Terry (and spouse Michelle) Walters, Warsaw; four daughters: Leslie Golden and Carmen (and spouse Ken) Fraley, all of Silver Lake; Tami Spencer, Warsaw; and Dawn R. (and spouse Robert) Spears, East Point, Ky.; two sisters, Madonna Chappell, Florida, and Joyce Bennett, Mishawaka; three brothers: Tony, Bob and Ed Miller Jr., all of Florida; 25 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her son, Taulbee Walters.
A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Friday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw. Burial will be at a later date.
