He was born Sept. 30, 1924, in Nappanee, to Samuel J. and Sarah Yoder Miller. On May 11, 1943, in Nappanee, he married Linda Miller, who survives.
A lifetime area resident, he was a retired farmer and pastored at Bethel Conservative Mennonite Church for 40 years. He also was the assistant chaplain at Westville Correctional Center for 14 years. He was a member of Bethel Conservative Mennonite Church.
Also surviving are a son, Lyle (and spouse Ada) Miller, Nappanee; four daughters: Katie (and spouse Glen) Bontrager, Wakarusa; Ina (and spouse Dale) Slabaugh, Nappanee; Sara (and spouse Joni) Schrock, Madison; and Maria (and spouse Vernon) Bacher, West Minster, S.C.; 19 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Esther Mullett, Wakarusa. He was preceded in death by a son, three sisters and two brothers.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Bethel Conservative Mennonite Church with Pastor Eugene Hershberger officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Conservative Mennonite Church Cemetery.
Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today and Friday and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church.
