Parks Department to Offer Fly Fishing Workshops

The Warsaw Parks and Recreation Department will offer beginner, intermediate and advanced fly fishing workshops on May 19.

The workshops will be led by area fly fishing instructor Charlie Ray. The beginner workshop will be from 9 a.m. to noon in Nye Park.

The cost is $10 per person, and participants must be at least 11 years old.

Instruction will include basic fly fishing techniques, casting, safety, and basic fly tying.

The Beginners Workshop is limited to five participants. The intermediate and advanced workshop will be from 1-2:30 p.m. and is also $10 per person.

Instruction will include improving accuracy with special targets, casting proficiency, and more. The intermediate and advanced workshop is limited to two participants to maintain high-quality instruction, but additional session times may be added.

All equipment and rods will be supplied by the instructor, or participants may bring their own rod.  Registration is required by May 16.
