PIERCETON - Pierceton-based Paragon Medical opened a new manufacturing facility in Changzhou, China, during a special ceremony May 9.

Paragon Medical designs, manufactures and supplies chain management of implants, instruments and delivery systems for medical device manufacturers.

Paragon Medical Device (Changzhou) Co. Ltd., in GDH Riverside Industrial Park, occupies 2,100 square meters. Initially, 30 employees will work at the site that has been developed to support both foreign and domestic OEMs in China.

"The opening of our facility in Changzhou marks the achievement of an important milestone for Paragon," said Gary McGill, president and COO, Paragon. "China is a key market for our company's strategic growth goals as we expand into Asia, and it's essential in order for us to provide support and service for our growing customer base in the region."

This facility strengthens Paragon's position as a worldwide provider, allows for the repatriation of products where it makes sense, and gives Paragon a segue for participation in the domestic Chinese market.

Like Paragon's other locations, the Changzhou facility will be certified to ISO 13485. In addition, it will be registered with China's SFDA.

"In today's market, quality and regulatory compliance are essential. Products manufactured in China will be no different," said McGill. "We want our customers to know that we are taking all necessary steps associated with people, process and equipment to ensure full compliance with industry requirements."[[In-content Ad]]
