P4C Paddle Club is calling all kayak and canoe enthusiasts to its cleanup efforts.
The club is a non-profit organization that organizes and leads cleanup efforts on the Tippecanoe River, plans monthly float trips and holds fun and competitive community events at the Lakes Festival. P4C stands for Paddlers for Conservation and they love to be on the river, according to a press release from the organization.
P4C’s biggest volunteer effort is the Tippecanoe River Cleanup Project, providing assistance to the Indiana DNR Lake and River Enhancement Program for log jam removal. This year P4C will have two cleanup efforts, on May 7 and 14, and are looking for volunteers and local business to donate and help support these efforts to ensure a successful and productive event. Visit its website at www.p4cpaddleclub.com for more details about how to get involved, register and donate online.
Monthly float trips are being planned and the schedule will be available soon on the club’s website as well.
Memberships to the P4C Paddle Club are $15 for a single person and $25 for a family, which also can be done through the website. Each membership purchased gives the person the chance to win a kayak to be given away during Warsaw’s First Friday event Aug. 5.
P4C is excited to be a part of the Lakes Festival this year to be held at Center Lake June 11. P4C will hold an event called “Paddle Wars” where teams will compete in a tug-of-war type of competition in canoes. All proceeds will go toward P4C’s cleanup efforts. Pre-register online now to receive a free P4C event T-shirt. P4C is also excited to be a part of the “Kayaks for Kids” event at the Lakes Festival, the release states. P4C will sponsor all kayaks and equipment needed to provide the kayak experience to all children at the festival free of charge.
P4C is a nonprofit, volunteer-based organization dedicated to promoting paddling, education and conservation. Its mission is to restore and enhance the Tippecanoe River, and Kosciusko County lakes and streams through hands-on environmental stewardship in order to preserve the rivers, lakes and streams for the future, according to the release. P4C aims to bring the community together through various cleanup projects and organizing family fun float trips which will foster a healthier environment and instill positive friendships amongst its members and community.[[In-content Ad]]
