Owen R. Rusty Ecker, 72, of Warsaw, died at 2 p.m. March 31, 2009, in his daughter's residence.

He was born April 8, 1936, in Momence, Ill., to Estel and Leona Wooley Ecker. On April 14, 1956, in Auburn, he married Mildred L. Warren, who died Oct. 9, 1997.

Moving to Warsaw from Niles, Mich., in 1956, he was a trimmer at Liberty Homes Inc., Syracuse, for more than 30 years, retiring in 2002. He was a REACT CB Club member and loved to fish, camp and go to garage sales.

Surviving are two daughters, Pamela (and spouse Thomas) Gibson, Warsaw, and Rosemary (and spouse Roger) Kunkel, Watervliet, Mich.; three stepdaughters: Lavina (and spouse Wayne) Alderfer, Cromwell; Donna (and spouse Larry) Brubaker, Warsaw; and Kay Smith, Elwood; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Elizabeth Purucker, Niles, and Frances Wyres, Houston, Texas. He was preceded in death by a brother, Everett Ecker, who died in 1997, and a son-in-law, Stephen Smith, who died in 2008.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, with officiating by Pastor Glen Hughes of Lighthouse Pentecostal Church, Warsaw. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.

Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
