Kathryn Jean Owen and Eric Eugene Cockrill, both of Syracuse, recently announced their engagement. She is the daughter of Richard and Kimberly Wagoner Owen, Syracuse, and he is the son of Benjamin and Jennifer Noffsinger Baughman, Syracuse, and Elward Cockrill, Harlingen, Texas.

The bride-to be is is employed as a lifeguard for the YMCA, Indianapolis, and works part-time at Owen Family Funeral, Syracuse. She is a 2007 graduate of Wawasee High School, Syracuse, and currently attends Ivy Tech Mortuary School, Indianapolis.

The groom-elect is employed at Coppingers Flooring, Carmel, and works part-time at Owen Family Funeral Home, Syracuse. He is a 2007 graduate of Wawasee High School, Syracuse, and attends Ivy Tech Mortuary School, Indianapolis.

The couple plan a Dec. 29, 2007, wedding in the North Webster Church of God.
